Liam wins the prestigious Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship

Liam has some very exciting news to share… He has been awarded the 2015 Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship.

Generations in Jazz, held annually at Mt Gambier, brings together nearly 4,000 jazz lovers from all over Australia as well as many internationally renowned artists.

The event allows talented young musicians selected by audition to compete for the Jazz Vocal Scholarship, a prestigious prize highly sought after by young jazz vocalists.

Liam had an amazing four days in Mt Gambier, performing with incredible musicians and meeting some of the best jazz cats from around the world. Highlights of the event were performing his scholarship songs at “the Barn” on Friday and Saturday nights to full houses, performing with James Morrison and the G.I.J. quartet at the Sunday concert and meeting “Take 6”, the multi-platinum- selling U.S. sextet described by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet”. Liam was blown away by their energy and incredible vocal performances.

All in all it was an amazing event and the scholarship, which was presented by James Morrison, is a wonderful achievement for Liam.
